Cape Verde center fielder Luis Morales earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 3-5 with a triple and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Cape Verde reliever Junichiro Kobayashi picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Alexis Nunez absorbed the loss. Luis Herrera notched his 9th save in 10 chances.
Josh Maillard helped out the Cape Verde cause in the top of the first inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the first baseman was 1 for 4 with a hit by pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
