| Mustang Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras | The Carson City Mustang faced a tough opponent in Cincinnati pitcher Antonio Pena, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Studio by a final score of 5-4. Pena went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The Mustang bumped their record to 65-49 with this latest triumph.
Ivan Lopez hit a 2-run double off Mike Jones in the top of the 12th, which put the Mustang in front, 5-3. In addition to the double, Lopez had 2 singles, while going 3 for 6.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Carson City manager Todd Barrett.
