| Cornhuskers Solve Wolverines, 5-2 | The DeKalb Cornhuskers stymied the Wichita Wolverines, 5-2, at Howling Park. Mat Martin, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 1 for 1 with 3 walks for DeKalb. DeKalb reliever David Vince got the win, raising his record to 6-3. Garth Bankston was tagged with the loss. Kirk Winman was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 8 of 8 save opportunities.
Early in the game, designated hitter Stewart Gee had a run-scoring double for DeKalb. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Cornhuskers on top, 1-0.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Gee told the DeKalb Herald.
