| Vesuvius Edge Hackers, 4-3 | The Cape Verde Vesuvius topped the Silicon Valley Hackers, 4-3, with shortstop Yeong-il Choy playing a big role. Choy went 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Vesuvius in the win. Francisco Morales got credit for the win, improving to 3-4. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits in 5 innings. Luis Herrera, credited with the save, is now 8 for 9 in save opportunities.
Choy contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Cape Verde in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Choy took a fastball from Luis Silva and stroked the home run to left. His 10th home run of the season allowed the Vesuvius to leap in front, 4-3.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Choy told the Cape Verde Times.
The second-place Vesuvius lifted their record to 60-49.
