Hawks Continue Skid Thanks to Gómez, Beetlecats
The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats grabbed a 5-2 win over the Boise Hawks at Bloomfield Road. Buzzard's Bay shortstop Tony Gómez went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 to earn player of the game honors. The last-place Hawks have dropped 4 straight games.

In the top of the eighth, Sergio Salazar stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Hawks were trailing 5-2, but had the bases loaded. That's when Mike Anderson made a terrific pitch and Salazar struck out. Gone was the dream of a Boise comeback.
