| Monarchs Win in Extras | Riverside pitcher Mike True gave the Monarchs all they could handle, but in the end, Marysville left Mitts Fieldhouse with a 3-2 win. True allowed no earned runs on 2 hits over 6.1 innings. Marysville reliever Ricardo Jarquin picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Ramon Trinidad was saddled with the loss. Marysville is now 75-36, 14˝ games up in the RCLAA Gene Mauch Division.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Marysville designated hitter Doug Djordjevic, facing Ramon Trinidad, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Monarchs the 3-2 win.
"It was a solid team effort," said Djordjevic after the game.
