| Rhinos Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start | The Rubber City Rhinos got a stellar effort from pitcher Goro Ota, helping Rubber City score a 5-2 win over the visiting Portland Beavers. Ota, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 4, and allowing 2 earned runs. Rudy Cortez earned save number 2.
David Giese helped out the Rubber City cause in the bottom of the third inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the catcher was 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Ota told the Rubber City Herald.
Rubber City, now 2-3, is off to a slow start.
