Mustang Get Close Win Over Spartans

The Sandy Springs Spartans got a superb performance from right fielder Eddie Lannigan. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Carson City. The Mustang won the game, 6-5. In spite of the loss, Lannigan was named the player of the game. He went 4 for 4 with a triple and 3 singles. Carson City reliever Jean-François Blot picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Miguel Padilla absorbed the loss. Hyun-sik Park earned his 29th save in 32 chances.

David Mena, who is tied for 7th in the TAA in runs scored with 62, aided the Carson City cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the left fielder drove in one run.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Carson City manager Todd Barrett.

The Mustang bumped their record to 63-47 with this latest triumph.
