| Cornhuskers Subdue San Antonio, 5-3 | DeKalb and San Antonio duked it out at The Corn Crib and the Cornhuskers came out victorious.
The San Antonio Storm Troopers got a superb performance from catcher Efrain Mejia. Still, it wasn't enough to beat DeKalb. The Cornhuskers won the game, 5-3. In spite of the loss, Mejia was named the player of the game. He was 2-5 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. DeKalb reliever Ray Burns picked up the win, upping his record to 3-4. Ben Charron absorbed the loss. Kirk Winman earned his 6th save in 6 chances.
Miguel Garza aided the DeKalb cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the second baseman went 1-3.
Garza attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
The Cornhuskers bumped their record to 55-53 with this latest triumph.
