| Beetlecats Bang Out 10-7 Win Versus Jacksonville | The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats defeated the Jacksonville Hellcats, 10-7, at Hellcats Park. Buzzard's Bay shortstop Tony Gómez was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 3 for 5 with a triple and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The win was credited to Jon Gonzales in relief. His record improves to 4-4. Steve Paul took the loss. The 5th-place Beetlecats improved to 51-52.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 3rd and two out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when left fielder Alex Guerrero drew a walk. The Beetlecats went on to win.
"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Guerrero told the Buzzard's Bay Today. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
