| Beehive Clip Spartans in Tight Contest | Madison catcher Roberto Alvarado had a 3-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Sandy Springs Spartans, 7-5. The win was Katsuo Ishibashi's in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Kyung-hwan Ho took the loss for Sandy Springs. Kris Richardson earned his 12th save in 18 chances.
Alvarado had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a full count fastball from Kyung-hwan Ho, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Beehive a 7-5 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Alvarado.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Alvarado told the Madison Times. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
The Beehive' win now puts them at 45-58.
