| Loss Extends Madison Losing Streak | The Sandy Springs Spartans beat the Madison Beehive, 5-4, at The Coliseum. The Spartans got a fine performance from left fielder Mike Carney, who captured player of the game honors. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Luis Leyva, credited with the win, is now 3-8. He allowed 4 runs on 8 hits in 5.2 innings. The losing skid has reached 15 games for Madison.
Carney had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the fourth inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Spartans went on to win.
