| Hawks Score Late, Top Monarchs, 6-5 | The Marysville Monarchs got a superb performance from pitcher Luis Salcido. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Boise. The Hawks won the game, 6-5. In spite of the loss, Salcido was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. The last-place Hawks raised their record to 44-59.
Had Aaron Keller not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Keller hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Hawks.
Keller called the triumph "a good team win."
