| Wolverines Trip Vesuvius in Extras | With second baseman Benjamin Donahoo leading the charge, the Wichita Wolverines defeated the Cape Verde Vesuvius, 9-8, at Conduit Caverns. Donahoo, who is considered the best prospect in baseball by BNN, went 3-5 with a triple, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Manny Anchondo earned his 1st save in 1 chances. The Wolverines bumped their record to 57-47 with this latest triumph.
Donahoo had a game-changing single in the top of the 12th. On a full count fastball from T.J. Sparks, he banged a 2-run single to left, giving the Wolverines a 9-7 lead. It was the 7th hit of the year for Donahoo.
"There's no quit in this team," said Wolverines manager Chris Carpenter.
