Vesuvius Score Late, Upend Wolverines, 5-4

The Wichita Wolverines and Cape Verde Vesuvius provided some drama at Conduit Caverns.

Behind the bravura of catcher Won-sub Pak, the Cape Verde Vesuvius topped the Wichita Wolverines by the score of 5-4. Pak was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Vesuvius. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for Cape Verde.

Pak had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-2 fastball from Jeff Farrar, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Vesuvius a 5-4 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Pak.

"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Pak. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
