| Hawks Stun Ducks, 5-4 | Boise beat Long Island at Long Island Stadium, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to first baseman Mark Kandah, who earned player of the game honors. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The win was credited to Franklin Cadonau in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Joe Schrock took the loss. Ray Toye got the save, his 19th in 25 chances.
Kandah had a big at-bat with the bases empty in the top of the eighth inning, when he hit a triple. The Hawks went on to win.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Kandah told reporters after the game.
Boise is now 42-57, while Long Island is 45-54.
