| Bullets Subdue San Antonio, 5-3 | The Biloxi Bullets topped the San Antonio Storm Troopers, 5-3, with left fielder Jose Martinez playing a big role. Martinez was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Bullets in the win. Biloxi reliever Roberto Alvarez was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Ben Charron took the loss for San Antonio. The Bullets bumped their record to 49-48 with this latest triumph.
Martinez had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 1-2 cutter from Ben Charron, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Bullets a 5-2 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Martinez.
Martinez called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
