The win was largely due to the efforts of center fielder Pablo Viruet, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. The Hellcats now have a mark of 43-52.
Viruet had an important at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the seventh, when he hit a run-scoring single. The Hellcats went on to win.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said DeKalb manager Eduardo Varerla. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
