Wolverines Get Past Cincinnati for 7-6 Win
The Wichita Wolverines defeated the Cincinnati Snaps, 7-6. Earning player of the game honors was catcher Ricky Irizarry, who went 2-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Wichita reliever Marlo Freeman was credited with the win, to go to 2-0. Ismael Mejia took the loss for Cincinnati. The Wolverines bumped their record to 52-45 with this latest triumph.

The Wolverines got a big at-bat from first baseman Cory Doucette. For the game, Doucette went 2-5 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the eighth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 5th double of the season gave Wichita a 7-6 lead.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Cincinnati manager Rob Penn. "The effort was great."
