Wolverines Subdue Bradenton, 3-2

Wichita and Bradenton duked it out at Howling Park and the Wolverines came out victorious.

The Wichita Wolverines got a strong performance from pitcher Garth Bankston, who stymied the Bradenton offense en route to a 3-2 win at Howling Park. Bankston, the winner, moves to 5-6. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 4 walks. Joel Stapleton, credited with the save, is now 27 for 31 in save opportunities.

Ryan Blossom aided the Wichita cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the left fielder went 1-2 with a walk.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Blossom.

The Wolverines bumped their record to 50-43 with this latest triumph.
