| Ducks Throttle Cornhuskers, 5-1 | Long Island played host to DeKalb at the friendly confines of Long Island Stadium.
The Long Island Ducks got a strong performance from pitcher Bob Ruíz, who stymied the DeKalb offense en route to a 5-1 win at Long Island Stadium. Long Island goes to 42-49, DeKalb to 44-46.
The Ducks got a big at-bat from right fielder Jaime Summers. For the game, Summers was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Long Island a 2-1 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Summers.
