| Martinez Excels, But Vesuvius Win | The inspired effort of Biloxi left fielder Jose Martinez was not enough to prevent a 6-4 loss to the Cape Verde Vesuvius. Martinez was 3 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. Reliever Aubrey Williamsen picked up the win. His record improves to 3-0. Naoyuki Kikuchi took the loss. Luis Herrera notched his 4th save in 4 chances.
Juan Estevez, who leads the RAA with a .373 batting average, chipped in for Cape Verde with a 2-run single in the top of the ninth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Estevez said after the game.
The Vesuvius bumped their record to 46-41 with this latest triumph.
