The Vesuvius grabbed a win, 3-2, at McCormick Field, overcoming a fine effort from Pacifica pitcher Dedrick Savage. Savage went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Cape Verde is now 44-39, while Pacifica is 50-37.

Had Won-sub Pak not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Pak hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Vesuvius.

"We're all smiles after that win," Pak told the Cape Verde Times.
