Great Stroke: Collier Gets 5 Hits

Bradenton center fielder Larry Collier had a big day at The Field at Bradenton today against the San Antonio Storm Troopers. The 25-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led the Marauders to a 11-4 triumph over San Antonio.

"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Collier said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."

Larry Collier doubled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Frank Ramos in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

This year Collier has collected a .283 batting average to date with 88 hits in 311 at-bats, 43 RBIs, 7 home runs and scored 43 times. He has played in 83 games.
