| Cornhuskers Subdue Fraser Valley, 5-3 | The DeKalb Cornhuskers topped the Fraser Valley Black Bears, 5-3, in TMLAA action at The Corn Crib. The player of the game was DeKalb pitcher and London, England native Dane Manwaring. The winner was David Vince in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Kentaro Ogata took the loss. Ray Burns got the save, his 24th in 26 chances.
Had Eric Farlin not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Farlin hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Cornhuskers.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said DeKalb manager Eduardo Varerla.
The Cornhuskers raised their record to 41-42.
