| Vesuvius Roll to 8-3 Win Over Monarchs | The Cape Verde Vesuvius stopped the Marysville Monarchs, 8-3, at Conduit Caverns. The Vesuvius got a big game from Ric Witkoski, who was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The Vesuvius bumped their record to 43-39 with this latest triumph.
Cape Verde grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Witkoski, who is tied for 10th in the RAA in triples with 3, hit a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season put the Vesuvius out in front, 5-3.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Cape Verde manager Eduardo Flores.
