| Tune-Ups Come Back Late to Top Hackers | The Youngstown Tune-Ups bested the Silicon Valley Hackers, 8-5, at Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum. Antonio Carranza was named player of the game. Had Jonathan Franco not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Franco hit a bases-clearing double. That made the score 8-5, in favor of the Tune-Ups.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Michael McCarthy said.
