Ducks Win Again, Extend Streak to 7

The Long Island Ducks defeated the Spokane Bulldogs, 3-1, in TMLAA action at Long Island Stadium, with Long Island pitcher Bob Ruíz named player of the game. The 5th-place Ducks now have a 7-game winning streak.

Ichiyo Yano drove in one run for Long Island. The 31-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Tomas Romirez. It was his 25th RBI of the season.

"Winning makes the heart grow fonder -- for more winning," said Ruíz, cracking a smile.
