| Earthquakes Edge Bombers, 2-1 | San Francisco Earthquakes starter Enrique Galván turned in a top-notch performance against the South Carolina Bombers at Golden Gate Park. The result was a win for the Earthquakes, 2-1. Owen Lewis, credited with the win, is now 2-3. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1 innings. The Earthquakes bumped their record to 21-20 with this latest triumph.
The Earthquakes got a big at-bat from designated hitter Jesús Velásquez. For the game, Velásquez was 1 for 5. In the bottom of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 13th hit of the season gave San Francisco a 2-1 lead.
"We did just enough to win," Galván said.
