| Shunin Stars for Robins in 6-2 Win | It was a good time at Ashton Gate, where fans came to watch the DeKalb Cornhuskers and Bristol Robins get after it.
Benefiting from Igor Shunin's productive game, the Bristol Robins downed the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 6-2. Shunin was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Robins. Bristol reliever Ken Ducklow was credited with the win, to go to 3-5. Tim Medlin took the loss for DeKalb. Arturo Mercado notched his 16th save in 18 chances.
Shunin had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 3rd in the bottom of the fifth inning, when he hit a run-scoring single. The Robins went on to win.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said DeKalb manager Eduardo Varerla. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
Bristol, now 28-50, holds last place in the Cory Lidle League Gene Mauch Division.
