Vesuvius Get Win, Extend Streak to 4

It was a good time at Conduit Caverns, where fans came to watch the Long Island Ducks and Cape Verde Vesuvius get after it.

The Cape Verde Vesuvius bested the Long Island Ducks, 6-4, at Conduit Caverns. Ric Witkoski was named player of the game. He went 1 for 2 with 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Eduardo Muniz, the winner, improved to 3-4. He held the Ducks to 3 earned runs on 6 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 4. Francisco Morales notched his 21st save in 22 chances.

The Vesuvius got a big at-bat from second baseman Juan Estevez. For the game, Estevez went 1-4. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 79th hit of the season gave Cape Verde a 4-3 lead.
