| Wolverines Nip Ducks, 5-4 | Long Island center fielder Jamie Drum was sensational. He went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Wichita beat the Ducks, 5-4. Drum was named the player of the game despite the loss. Tsugunao Carroll was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 9 hits, with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts. The Wolverines bumped their record to 42-35 with this latest triumph.
Gil Keyworth, who is tied for 10th in the RHL in stolen bases with 17, aided the Wichita cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the center fielder drove in one run.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Keyworth told the Wichita Daily News.
