| Extra-Inning Win by Wolverines over Bulldogs | The Wichita Wolverines knocked off the Spokane Bulldogs, 6-4, at The Kennel. Gil Keyworth, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Wichita won. The center fielder was 4 for 6 with 4 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs. Wichita reliever Joel Stapleton was credited with the win, to go to 3-2. Aaron Burrell took the loss for Spokane. Wichita now sits in third place in the Roy Halladay League Jim Leyland Division at 40-34.
Keyworth had a game-changing single in the top of the 12th. On a full count fastball from Aaron Burrell, he banged a 2-run single to right, giving the Wolverines a 5-3 lead. It was the 64th hit of the year for Keyworth.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Keyworth told the Wichita Daily News.
