Estevez on Fire, 5-for-5 Against Riverside

There was no storybook ending. Juan Estevez of the Cape Verde Vesuvius socked it to the visiting Riverside Red Bulls with a terrific 5-hit game today, but his team didn't get the win. The Vesuvius fell, 10-5, at Conduit Caverns.

"I don't want to sound ungrateful, but something is missing here," Estevez complained following the loss. "When you have a great game you should win the game, too."

He definitely had an unforgettable day in the batter's box, ripping out 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Cape Verde manager Eduardo Flores sympathized with his second baseman, telling BNN reporters after the game that "Juan played a whale of a game, but sometimes individual brilliance is not enough."

Juan Estevez doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 9th.
