| Wolverines Come Back Late to Clip Bulldogs | Spokane first baseman A.J. Attwood had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Attwood went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once, even as Wichita beat the Bulldogs, 5-3. Attwood was named the player of the game despite the loss. Joel Stapleton notched his 22nd save in 26 chances. The Wolverines bumped their record to 39-33 with this latest triumph.
Had Danny Salazar not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Salazar hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Wolverines.
Salazar called the win "a collective effort."
