| Cornhuskers Walk It Off for 31st Win of Season | The DeKalb Cornhuskers turned back the Wichita Wolverines, 4-3, at The Corn Crib. Ramón Márquez was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. DeKalb reliever Ray Burns picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Hiroki Saito was saddled with the loss. The 4th-place Cornhuskers improved to 31-37.
Juichi Takahashi was the walk-off hero for DeKalb. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cornhuskers first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Takahashi.
