| Hawks Walk Off with Win | The Boise Hawks got a strong performance from pitcher Pete Willoughby, who stymied the Buzzard's Bay offense en route to a 3-2 win at Basque Block Field. Danny Horn got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 0.2 innings. The Hawks sit in last place in the Cory Lidle League Lou Piniella League with a record of 27-41.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Boise pinch hitter Jon Ybarra, facing Justin Keling, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Hawks the 3-2 win.
In comments to the Boise Herald, Ybarra admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
