| Bulldogs Lose, 8-6, at The Corn Crib | The DeKalb Cornhuskers knocked off the Spokane Bulldogs, 8-6, at The Corn Crib. John Huot, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason DeKalb won. The center fielder went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. DeKalb is now 29-36, while Spokane is 38-27.
Huot had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 0-1 cutter from Eric Clark, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Cornhuskers a 6-5 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Huot.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Huot told reporters after the game.
