The Long Island Ducks knocked off the Rock River Rats, 7-5, at The Rat Hole. Jose Lopez, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Long Island won. The designated hitter went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. Takamasa Oki was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 10 of 14 save opportunities.
Martin Poliskin aided the Long Island cause with a 2-run double in the top of the first. For the game, the catcher was 1-4 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Poliskin told reporters after the game.
Long Island is now 28-37, while Rock River is 33-32.
