| Hawks Get One-Run Win at Youngstown | Youngstown got a terrific performance from shortstop Jake Parker, but it wasn't enough to beat the Boise Hawks. Boise won the Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum contest, 6-5. Parker was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times. Tommy Montgomery was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, with 4 walks and 2 strikeouts. Jesús Ordóñez converted his 2nd save in 2 tries.
The Hawks got a big at-bat from right fielder Manny Vasquez. For the game, Vasquez was 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 9th double of the season gave Boise a 4-2 lead.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Vasquez.
The Hawks' win now puts them at 25-40.
