| Monarchs Come Back Late to Clip Robins | The Marysville Monarchs did just enough to sneak past the Bristol Robins, 3-2, at Ashton Gate. Marysville pitcher Kevin Bongarzone earned player of the game honors. Marysville reliever Eddy Johnston picked up the win to move to 2-0. Miguel Sanchez suffered the loss. Ricardo Jarquin was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 2 save opportunities.
Nick Wood made it 3-2 in favor of Marysville when he delivered a solo home run. It came with no one out in the top of the eighth. The Monarchs went on to win.
Bristol manager Mason Eilers said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
The Monarchs have an impressive 44-23 record.
