Mustang Stymie Bradenton, Take 5-1 Win

The Carson City Mustang went home winners at The Field at Bradenton, thanks in large part to starter Kevin Murphy. Murphy silenced the Bradenton Marauders, enabling Carson City to grab the 5-1 win. Carson City is now 38-28, 2 games up in the Roy Halladay League Jim Leyland Division.

The Mustang got a big at-bat from catcher Morgan Kowalkowski. For the game, Kowalkowski went 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 14th double of the season gave Carson City a 2-0 lead.

"This is a very good team," said Murphy. "We have the chance to do something special."
