| Late Rally by Hackers Secures Win | The Silicon Valley Hackers bested the Riverside Red Bulls by a score of 5-4, with second baseman Pearce Balcome getting the main credit. On the day, Balcome went 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Hackers. Butch Eviston, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities. The second-place Hackers improved to 31-33.
Balcome contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Silicon Valley in the top of the eighth. With his team trailing 4-1, Balcome took a sinker from Cole Moore and stroked the home run to left. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Hackers to leap in front, 5-4.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Balcome.
