| Rockhounds Topple Hornets with Late Rally | Midland starter Ruben Fernandez pitched effectively against the Eureka Hornets at Field of Dreams. The right-hander led his team to a 3-2 win. The win was Pete Tupper's in relief. His record improves to 1-3. Alexis Zepeda took the loss for Eureka. At 14-24, the Rockhounds are currently 5th in the Thurman Munson League Sparky Anderson Division.
Kaiji Nagata was the walk-off hero for Midland. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Rockhounds third baseman hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Midland manager Anastasio Ojeda. "It's usually not just one thing."
