| Hellcats Solve Hackers, 6-4 | The Jacksonville Hellcats bested the Silicon Valley Hackers, 6-4, at Hellcats Park. Ryoji Nakai was named player of the game. He went 3-5 with 3 singles. Jacksonville reliever Hugo Herrera picked up the win to move to 1-0. Remco Hassink suffered the loss. Jacksonville is now riding a 3-game win streak.
The Hellcats got a big at-bat from catcher Toshiya Shiraishi. For the game, Shiraishi was 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Jacksonville a 5-4 lead.
Nakai told a Jacksonville Chronicle reporter that he was "pleased as punch" with the win.
