| Vesuvius Bridle Bullets, 2-1 | In a low-scoring affair between the Cape Verde Vesuvius and the Biloxi Bullets, pitcher Ryan Volz was the difference between victory and defeat. The Cape Verde right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 2-1 Vesuvius win. The winner was Cape Verde reliever Carlos Romero, now 5-1. The loser was Eddie Lara. Francisco Morales converted his 16th save in 16 tries.
Juan Estevez, who is tied for 3rd in the CLL with a .331 batting average, aided the Cape Verde cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 4.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Volz told the Cape Verde Times.
The Vesuvius bumped their record to 34-23 with this latest triumph.
