| Beehive Fall Short at Wichita | Bill Crincoli had a good game, but he could not keep the Madison Beehive from falling, 5-4, to the Wichita Wolverines at Howling Park. The Madison second baseman went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once in the loss. The winner was Wichita reliever Hiroki Saito, now 2-0. The loser was Kris Richardson. The Wolverines bumped their record to 31-27 with this latest triumph.
Ossie Zurita was the walk-off hero for Wichita. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Wolverines designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place was jumping at the end," Zurita said.
