| Ducks Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras | The Long Island Ducks defeated the Sandy Springs Spartans, 5-4, in Roy Halladay League action at Long Island Stadium, with Long Island pitcher Francisco Valdez named player of the game. Long Island reliever Lance Robinson got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Chris Roberts was tagged with the loss. Long Island currently is in 5th place in the Roy Halladay League Bruce Bochy Division at 23-32.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Long Island center fielder Peter Wright, facing Chris Roberts, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Ducks the 5-4 win.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Valdez said.
