| Black Bears Win at DeKalb, 5-0 | Fraser Valley right-hander Derrek Bathauer made an effective start against the DeKalb Cornhuskers at The Corn Crib, leading his team to a 5-0 win. The Black Bears bumped their record to 30-21 with this latest triumph.
The Black Bears got a big at-bat from catcher Jim Sims. For the game, Sims was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 5th double of the season gave Fraser Valley a 1-0 lead.
Sims told a Fraser Valley Citizen reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
