| Hawks Turn Back Rock River, 4-2 | The Boise Hawks stymied the Rock River Rats, 4-2, at Basque Block Field. Ryan Egan, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for Boise. Rock River has now lost 4 consecutive games.
Egan had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 1-1 fastball from Pat Beckett, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Hawks a 4-2 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Egan.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Egan told a Boise Herald reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
